Called twice, but missed the call. Tried calling back to see who it it was... It rang once then beeping tone. Received a "voice message that could not be converted to text".

Received a cold call claiming to be from the "Police Welfare Fund" asking for funding for a Police Child Safety Campaign called "Street Smart" in support of drug problems (Ice was mentioned a lot). Was given this incredibly long spiel about how bad drugs were - so I hung up mid-stream. Firstly, there was no mention of a specific Police Service (in my case, Qld) - so that was sus. My suburb was mentioned in the spiel ("the campaign would be launched in February in XYZ") - which seems odd because there is no drug problem in my suburb - elsewhere in the city yes, but not here. Also, since when do our Police services actively solicit donations for public health campaigns? What nonsense is that? Person also asked for my name and seemed put off when I only answered with my firstname which also seemed odd. I could be wrong, but everything about this screamed scam.
