9.27am, Friday, 15 June 2018 I received a call on my mobile phone: 02 8595 3139. I only said hello and then heard someone talking in either Chinese or Japanese. I then hung up without saying anything more. I rang the number on my landline phone and the recorded message was that the number was "not in service". I did a Google search of that number. It found on Chinese and Japanese websites but the person or organisation was not identified. I reported this as an "unsafe" number on two Australian websites. 2.27pm, same day (exactly five hours later) I received another phone call on my mob phone: +81 45 204 9448. I did not answer it. This one identified as coming from Yokohama (city) in Kanagawa (State), Japan. When I searched online for that number, all I could find was confirmation that 81 45 204 is Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan. No further identification was found. I'm wondering if the two calls are related.

It's a scam from the Chinese Consulate, if you don't answer you get a message loop in Chinese and speaking with a number of other people receiving these harassing calls, if you call back it's linked to a 1900 number and they are trying to scam you for money!!
