Called, but I didn't answer. Then left an automated message claiming to be from the tax office and that I needed to call back or a warrant would be put out for arrest. I have heard of many of such calls in Australia and they are hoaxes. They are quite sophisticated and even give their name and ATO ID number, do not believe them! The ATO does not call and ask for bank details or to tell you that you are going to be arrested.

I do believe this number (08) 6102-5751 is a *SCAM* What the scam is I dont, as they hung up on me pretty quickly when I rang them. As i kept asking for the caller to repeat who he was as his acsent was really strong & I couldnt understand him clearly. Anyway, I recieved this call on Monday the 13/01/2019 around 9.15am. I answered the call, a man with a very sturn & definatly intimidating voice informed me that this was just a PRE-RECORDED MESSAGE from the A.T.O (eg: Australian Taxation Office) As best as I can remember, This was the msg "IF YOU ARE RECIEVING THIS MESSAGE YOU ARE 1 OF MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF "TAX FRAUD & OR TAX AVATION" IN A LARGE CLASS ACTION SUIT THAT THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERMENT & ATO FILED AGENST YOU. IF YOU WERE NOT AWARE OF THIS CLASS ACTION IT IS IN YOUR BEST INTREST NOT TO IGNORE OR FOLLOW UP ON THIS MSG, CONTACT YOUR A.T.O ON THE NUMBER PROVIDED, A.S.A.P (eg: as soon as possible) BUT NO LATER THEN THE WEEKS WORKING DAYS END 5PM est" (eg: eastern standed time) The msg goes onto say if I do choose not to contact the ATO i.m.c.c (eg: in my Captital City) by this WEEKS WORKING DAYS, 5pm END warrants will be issued for yourARREST.

Received a phone call from them yesterday 08/01/2019 at 12pm saying they were from the tax department, that I had money owing and that if I didn’t return there call I would have police at my house arresting me with a warrant. It’s was like a robot voice record type thing. Such a scam I just hung up!

Pretend ATO arrest warrant fraud attempt. Don't fall for the robotic message left from this number by someone "impersonating" the ATO. DO NOT ring back! This call was made to me on Tuesday 8th January 2019 at 16:55.
