Caller Type: Scam

I clicked on what appeared to be a legitimate link which then "locked up" my computer and advising me (in a recorded American accent) to call Windows support on this number immediately because supposedly my IP address was used without my knowledge or consent to access sites that contain "identity theft virus" download. However, all it did was lock my browser session (i.e. I opened another session concurrently with no problems). The voice says not to shutdown or restart my computer because it may lead to data loss and identity theft, and to call the support line who will unlock the computer for me (no doubt then just remote accessing my PC). I Googled the supposed "support" number and no surprise - it isn't registered with any company or agency in Australia... Needless to say this appears highly suspicious - I wouldn't be able to open this session or do anything else on my computer if indeed it had really been "locked up", and a legitimate windows security number would surely be able to be discoverable when Googled....
