I believe they get our numbers from online activity. They rang me & asked to speak to a username I recognised that my son sometimes uses on the app "DragonCity". So I could tell that the call was something dodgy. My son just admitted that he had filled in surveys with that username to gain in-game points & had entered my mobile number.
