The caller says they have 30 vouchers to give away for tutoring and by calling they say one is entitled to a voucher. Based in Parramatta the lady insisted that it was all legit way to access the number. She calls at inconvenient time 7.13pm. I asked her as to how she qualified me as a person to be accorded the tutoring voucher, she said I qualified. Upon telling her it was illegal for them to obtain my details or contact number from anyone without my permission, she clearly articulated it was an agency based in my area that had sold my details and contact number to them. She was asked twice as to what basis was used to qualify me for the voucher, she could not explain. Upon mentioning to her that I was a professional, she accused me of judging her company. And she abruptly ended her call. I did tell her and caution her very nicely 3 times to strike my number off their database. I also cautioned her that it was an illegal way to obtain my details from anyone by paying money to do so. This is an absolute and clear violation of privacy and access. It is all done without my permission. Something has to be done about this form of invasion of privacy and breach of privacy.
