These guys just tried it on me. this scared the crap out of me since I'm late lodging my BAS. they were threatening arrest $97k fine or 5 years imprison. they quoted 4 different articles of the tax code I had broken.
Started to get suspicious when the said they had tried to serve me notice on the 2nd of November, a day I was home all day. they then put me on hold, thank goodness I jumped on the computer then and saw this site.
When they came back wanting to arrange payment I explained that there was no way I was going to pay anything without some written documentation and accused them of trying to scam me. he assured me that it wasn't and put me on hold to arrange the documentation. and then hung up.
This is scary, they must have got so many people.

Tried to call back many times, rang out and then they hung up 10 times, googled it because the arrest warrant recording scared us and the result was to constantly hang up, will be taking this further

Recorded voice call saying called from ATO and they have a lawsuit against me if don’t hear from me shortly they will issue an arrest warrant. Scared the sh-t out of me since I’m late for BAS submission which was due last week (Monday today, which makes total sense?) and tried to call back 20 times always busy until I realised I should google it. God knows how many people are scammed.

SCAM! Tried to tell me there is a court case being lodged against me because of several incorrect lodgements on my tax for 2016-17. I asked why they hadn’t notified me before now and why no one has tried contacting me before lodging a court case against me to get arrested. They hung up on me straight away. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.
